About "Yerma"
"Yerma" is adapted from Lorca's classic play from 1934. This 21st-century version preserves the essence of the original, portraying the intense struggle of women caught between desire and their fate, profoundly resonating with the audience. Although times have changed, modern women still find it difficult to escape traditional constraints and societal expectations. The play tackles the immense psychological pressure women face regarding infertility, vividly illustrating the deep-seated resentment and loneliness they experience.
A beautiful aspiration ultimately transforms into a destructive force that consumes both herself and others. Is it the protagonist Yerma's relentless obsession, or is it the harshness of fate?
